This is not another course to finish or information to memorize.

It is a complete starter system designed to help you learn the practice, experience it yourself, keep it visible, use it in everyday life, and then share it with kids.

Use your Chair of JOY when:

• when you or a child is escalating
• you are about to lose your patience
• nobody seems to be listening
• emotions suddenly get big

The goal is not to make every feeling disappear.

The goal is to notice what is happening, create a purposeful interruption, and give yourself a moment before you keep going.  And have some fun because these tools are meant to give relief, laughter, tears, and mostly more safety, presence and joy.

Start With Yourself

Before asking a child to use the Chair of JOY, use it yourself.

Find your Chair of JOY.

It might be your favorite chair at home, Grandma's couch, under a tree, at the beach, beside the soccer field, or somewhere completely your own.

Then practice the four simple steps we share with you in the materials.

You are making the practice familiar, so when a harder moment arrives, you are not starting from zero.
